Dr Melita Ash BSc (Hons), DClinPsy, CPsychol

Dr Melita Ash is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and the founder of Percuro Psychology. With extensive experience in the NHS, third sector, and independent practice, Dr Ash specialises in supporting children, young people, and their parents in managing anxiety-related challenges, including obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), social anxiety, and school avoidance (EBSnA).

A HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist and Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society, Dr Ash gained her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Staffordshire University. She is particularly passionate about helping parents of teenagers who feel unsure, overwhelmed, or stuck when trying to support their child’s mental health. She provides practical strategies to help parents feel more confident in their role, while also ensuring their own wellbeing isn’t left behind.

Dr Ash also offers post-diagnosis support for families following an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis and helps parents adjust to the unique challenges that come with raising a neurodivergent child.

At Percuro Psychology, she provides one-to-one therapy for parents, children and young people as well as joint parent-child sessions.

Dr Ash works using a range of therapeutic models and approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), systemic approaches, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).

• Bachelor of Science (with Honours) in Psychology (BSc Hons.), Derby University
